The Kern County Fire Department was called out to a hazmat situation early Wednesday morning at the California Highway Patrol Weigh Station located at the base of the Grapevine.
KCFD says a semi-truck was parked at the scales when CHP noticed it was leaking an unknown chemical. They isolated the truck and were able to determine that is was aluminum chloride, a corrosive material, leaking from a bin being transported by the truck.
KCFD Haz-mat worked with KC Environmental Health to completely clean up the area.
