Family and friends will gather this weekend to celebrate the life of Helen Chavez, the wife of civil rights activist Cesar Chavez.

She died on Monday at the age of 88.

A rosary and an all-night vigil will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Villa La Paz Conference and Education Center at the Cesar Chavez Center in Keene.

Mass will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. before Chavez is laid to rest next to her husband in Keene.

Among those expected to attend are Kerry Kennedy, actor Edward James Olmos, and former Los Angeles Archbishop Roger Mahony.
