BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — If loud fireworks aren't your thing, the City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center is inviting you out for a little QT with their four-legged fur-friends.

Since the 4th of July is very scary for animals, the shelter is spending the evening reading to the animals to help keep them calm.

The shelter says interested residents will be required to sign a waiver and must be accompanied by an adult.

If you have any questions you can call the shelter at (661) 832-7387 ext. 201, leave a clear message with your phone number and we will call you back.
