TEHACHAPI, Calif. — The Tehachapi Police Department is suggesting residents sign-up to receive local alerts and public safety messages on their phones.

According to the news release, the city partnered with Nixle for the alert system so the community can receive neighborhood and public safety information. During the recent earthquake in Ridgecrest, the Tehachapi Police Department and City of Tehachapi say they shared information to residents using Nixle as well as other social media platforms.
