High-speed pursuit ends with one in custody in Southeast Bakersfield

AFTER NEARLY AN HOUR AND A HALF, a high-speed pursuit ended in Southeast Bakersfield on Tuesday morning. — After nearly an hour and a half, a high-speed pursuit ended in Southeast Bakersfield on Tuesday morning.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, deputies attempted a traffic stop at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, but the driver didn't stop and triggered a pursuit.

The pursuit went through streets and highways in the South, East and Southeast parts of Bakersfield before ending just before 5 a.m. in the area of Cottonwood and Bradshaw. According to KCSO, the chase reached speeds of more than 100 mph.

The driver was taken into custody.
