The popular local holiday attraction HolidayLights at CALM for the second year in a row has been nominated by USA Today as one of the 10 best zoo light attractions in the country.
23ABC spoke with Steve Sanders, an administrator for the CALM Foundation who explained why he believed HolidayLights continues to grow and see success.
"I think what makes HolidayLights at CALM so special is its an amazing display of lights that celebrates Kern County and Bakersfield. It's done by Josh Barnett who grew up in Bakersfield, who now has a company that does this throughout the country. And it's just a holiday tradition the families can enjoy with over 3 million lights. It's just a real special event."
CALM may have gotten the nomination but they still need your help to earn an official spot on the list. They need your votes!
People can vote for their favorite zoo light shows once per day starting voting Monday through December 7th at 9 a.m. Winners and the official list will be announced on December 18th.
HolidayLights at CALM is open now until January 2nd.
