Police responded to a call reporting a gunshot on the 3000 block of Whitley Drive shortly after 3 P.M. Sunday. When police arrived, they found a man dead in an alley from a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.
Police have not disclosed the identity of the victim and do not have any suspects. Police are not sure if the shooting was gang related.
Neighbors say that the neighborhood is relatively quiet but this past week has seen two incidents occur. Last Sunday, a drunk driver crashed his car into a parked car a few houses away from the reported location of the homicide.
Sunday's shooting rattled neighbors.
"I hear just a whole bunch of cop cars and I just go out and look and I see a whole bunch of cops and I'm wondering what the heck is going on," said Sarah Schneider, a local resident.
