In a move to honor Red Simpson, one of the founders of the Bakersfield Sound, The Rasmussen Senior Center will be getting a special plaque for Simpson installed on their building.
The plaque made possible by The North Of The River Recreation and Park District as well as Citizens Preserving History.
The unveiling ceremony taking place at 9 a.m. Monday morning at the senior center on 115 E. Roberts Lane in Oildale.
The plaque is the first in a series planned by Citizens Preserving History in tribute to the Bakersfield Sound.
