To kick-off the holiday season Houchin Community Blood Bank will be entering blood donors into a raffle for a chance to win a trip for two to Hawaii.
"Destination for your Donation" will begin on Nov. 20 and will come to an end on Dec. 1.
Houchin Community Blood Bank relies on an average of 150 people to keep up with local needs on a daily basis.
"Holidays mean that regular donors are traveling, and winter brings seasonal illnesses, both of which keep regular donors from helping Houchin keep up with the demand which can increase on holiday weekends," the organization said in a statement.
The Wonderful Company sponsored trip will be arranged by Uniglobe Travel and is valued at $2,500. During the two week event donors can visit both locations at 5901 Truxtun Avenue and 11515 Bolthouse Drive or at the following two mobiles sites:
Jamba Juice: Nov. 25 – 9360 Rosedale Highway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donors who give blood at Jamba Juice or at either of Houchin’s two donor centers will receive a coupon for a “FREE” smoothie and will also be entered to win the Hawaii trip.
Three Way Chevrolet Cadillac: Nov. 28 – 4501 Wible Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donors who give on “Giving Tuesday” will also be entered to win the Hawaii trip and have a chance to win drawing prizes sponsored by Three Way Chevrolet Cadillac.
Broken Yolk Cares: Donors who give at either of Houchin’s two Donor Centers during Thanksgiving Week will receive a coupon from the Broken Yolk Café for a “FREE” Entrée valued at $14 while supplies last.
Month End Drawing: All Donors who give blood through the end of Nov. are automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $500 Walmart Gift Card sponsored by EAKC members: John Rodgers, CFP and Mel Ehrlich.
