A house fire in Frazier Park left two people dead and caused $300,000 worth of damage on Sunday.
At approximately 5:30 a.m. the Kern County Fire Department was called out for a house fire on Truman Avenue. When crews arrived the house was fully involved in fire and the roof then collapsed.
Three neighboring homes were evacuated as the flames spread to nearby grass and pine trees, threatening the homes.
Firefighters received reports of two people possibly still inside of the burning home. Their efforts were hampered by electrical lines down and a gas line explosion.
Crews eventually were able to get inside of the home and confirmed two people passed away as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
