Kern County Fire officials say squatters may be to blame for a house fire in northwest Bakersfield early Thursday morning.
The fire was reported to Kern County Fire around 5:45 Thursday morning in the 1600 block of Enger Street.
Neighbors who spoke to 23ABC say they heard a loud boom just before the fire broke out.
No injuries were reported.
Kern County fire investigators are still working to determine the official cause.
