Hundreds of parents to graduate from BCSD 'Parent University' on Saturday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Saturday, the Bakersfield City School District Family and Community Engagement Department will be celebrating achievements of parents who have completed the BCSD Parent University Program.

A little over 400 parents will participate in the ceremony, 2235 of which will receive perfect attendance and seven will receive special honor awards.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Harvey Auditorium at Bakersfield High School. The graduation is free and open to BCSD parents and families.

Dee Dee Harrison, Coordinator of the Family and Community Engagement Program stated,

“Our Parent University program is designed to give our parents confidence, knowledge and support. We applaud their dedication and commitment in completing this year’s program. The significance of the graduation will model for their children what sacrifice, determination and perseverance can achieve.”
