The search is on for an ice cream bandit who has targeted one of the most popular establishments in Bakersfield.

Dewar's posted pictures on social media, showing an alleged thief stealing tubs of ice cream from the Downtown location on Eye Street.

23ABC spoke to the manager at Dewar's who said the location was burglarized three times this year.

Officials say the location was burglarized on April 6, April 11 and Oct. 19.

The manager says the thief stole three-gallon tubs of ice cream that costs about $300 each. In all, four tubs were taken.

Dewar's officials say they contacted police. BPD confirmed Dewar's contacted them about the thefts.

In September, the Dewar's location on Eye Street was broken into, according to store officials. Two cash drawers were taken and officials say thieves got away with about $200. It's not known if that was related to the ice cream thefts.
