BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The identity of a man who was fatally shot in Central Bakersfield has been released.
28-year-old Trayvale Chance Gentry Carlson was shot by another person on the 1000 block of Chester Avenue in Central Bakersfield on August 30 around 6 p.m. Carlson was transported to Kern Medical where, on September 8, he died from his injuries. A postmortem examination determined Carlson's cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest. His death has been ruled a homicide.
