Brandon Johansen is following the race for the next Kern County Sheriff. The two candidates are Donny Youngblood and Justin Fleeman.
Youngblood is seeking his fourth term. He has served as Sheriff for 12 years in Kern County. In 2010 and 2014 he ran unopposed.
Fleeman joined KCSO in 1998 and has worked multiple assignments, including detentions and patrol. He has not served in public office.
