BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Board of Supervisors has named the next Fire Chief of the Kern County Fire Department.
The Board has voted to appoint Interim Chief David Witt to Fire Chief.

Interim Chief Witt was unanimously voted into the interim position in January.
