BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Drivers were forced to take long routes to get to Southern California from Bakersfield all day Thursday and early Friday morning.

On Wednesday night the California Highway Patrol closed Interstate 5 through the Grapevine due to heavy snow. Highway 58 was also intermittently closed Wednesday through Friday.

Those closures delaying deliveries to at least two local eateries. Chick-fil-A on Stockdale Highway closed for the day and Kentucky Fried Chicken on Mount Vernon Avenue both posted that they were closed Friday because they ran out of food.

Chick-fil-a posted on social media they expected to reopen Saturday at 6:30 a.m., no word on when the KFC will have chicken back in stock.
