Thieves targeted Jerry’s Pizza and Pub in downtown Bakersfield on Sunday morning when their handmade grill was stolen and it was all caught on surveillance video.
Video captured around 6:00 a.m. shows a red truck slowly driving by the alleyway on the side of Jerry’s Pizza and Pub on 19th Street and Chester Avenue.
The owner Corina Topete says the grill was locked down to ground and can't believe someone would take it.
“Just put yourself in my shoes. You wouldn’t want somebody to take from you. It’s sad, that people think they can just take what is not there’s," said Topete.
Topete says she posted the missing grill on Facebook and received more than 1,000 shares.
“ I am just very grateful that there are so many people that are wanting us to find it and actually one of our followers offered to make us a new one," said Topete.
