The Junior League of Bakersfield will be hosting a collection drive in order to gather small items for the Bakersfield Police Department to give to children they encounter who have experienced traumatic events. 

Collection boxes will be located at numerous locations throughout Bakersfield through November 11.

Locations include: both BPD locations, Uniquely Chic, Bakersfield Christian High School, Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce and the Larry E. Reider building. 

The Donated items are requested to be geared toward children aged 10 years or younger able to fit in a gallon-sized bag. 

Some of the examples of donations include colored pencils, small stuffed animals, coloring books, and donations of gallon-sized bags or cash.
