The Kern County Fire Department battled a brush fire east of Bakersfield near Highway 58.
Crews were battling the fire late Sunday afternoon near Highway 58 and Highway 223, and the blaze resulted in the temporary closure of Bena Road.
Fire officials say the blaze burned a total of 184 acres and no structures were harmed. The cause of the fire is unknown.
