UPDATE (May 1, 2017 3:45 p.m.): Firefighters were able to stop the fire near Fay Creek before it damaged any structures. The progression of the Faye Fire was stopped at 1:49 p.m.
The fire burned an estimated 15 acres.

The Kern County Fire Department says they are battling a small brush fire near Lake Isabella.
KCFD says it broke out around 12:30 p.m. on Fay Ranch Road near the community of South Lake.
Right now there are 5 fire engines, 3 patrols, a water tender, hot shot crew, and a helicopter on scene.
The fire is around 3 to 4 acres at this time.
No word yet on evacuations or threats to structures in the area.
