TAFT, Calif. — A Kern County Fire Department firefighter was injured while responding to a house fire in Taft this morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., KCFD received a call for a house fire on Standard Street in Taft. KCFD says the firefighter fell nearly three feet through the damaged floor of the home.

The firefighter was assisted out of the home and taken to a local hospital. The firefighter suffered minor injuries.

KCFD was able to put out the flames, and no one else was injured.
