KCFD firefighters released from fire in Ventura

The Solimar Fire in Ventura County is now 75% contained at 1236 acres with full containment expected on Tuesday.

Kern County Firefighters are being released from the fire this morning and will return home.

This includes our Dozer Strike Team (5 Personnel), Type III Strike Team (22 Personnel), and Type I Crew (14 Personnel). Total of 41 Firefighters.

The Solimar Fire is a reminder that Wildfires can happen year-round in California. We encourage our residents to remain vigilant and prepared.
