Kern County Fire crews say the Refuge Fire, burning in northwest Kern County, is fully contained.

The blaze broke out Tuesday afternoon at the Kern National Wildlife Refuge.

Kern County Fire crews reported the blaze covered 2,500 acres.

It's not known what caused the blaze.
