The Kern County Fire Department has sent resources to aid in the battle against the Pawnee Fire burning in Lake County in northern California.
KCFD says a task force of three fire engines were sent to the area on Sunday. A strike team leader and an assistant strike team leader were also sent. In total, 20 people from KCFD went to the area.
The blaze, which began on Friday, has burned over 8,000 acres and destroyed over 20 structures so far.
