Kern County Sheriff's Office Deputies and Hall Ambulance responded to a report of an 11-month-old female infant who had possibly drowned at an apartment in the 2600 block of Haley St.
Deputies arrived arrived around 9 a.m. with Hall Ambulance and started life saving measures. The infant was transported by Hall Ambulance to Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Due to the age of the infant, sheriff's office detectives responded and began an investigation.
It appears the infant climbed into a bathtub that had several inches of water in it and was unable to get out. Her mother located her in the bathtub a few minutes later, un-responsive. At this point the drowning appears accidental.
