KCSO: 16-year-old accidentally shoots cousin while looking at gun

A 16-year-old and his cousin were looking at a gun in Rosamond when it accidentally went off, striking the cousin of the 16-year-old.

Ray Pruitt with the Kern County Sheriff's Department said that the teens were looking at, or handling a gun when it accidentally went off Sunday afternoon.

It is currently unknown if the teen will face any charges, Pruitt said since it was accidental.

The victim of the shooting is expected to survive.
