A man was arrested and accused of assaulting his 2-year-old toddler.

At about 7 p.m. Sunday, Kern County Sheriff's Department deputies were sent to the 200 block of Harding Avenue in Bakersfield, CA regarding 2-year-old not breathing.

The toddler was taken to a local area hospital suffering from suspicious injuries. 

Detectives determined there was probable cause to arrest the child’s father, 27 year old Izaac Sanchez, for felony child endangerment and felony assault on a child under eight years old.

He was transported and booked into the Central Receiving Facility.

The remaining children in the home were taken into protective custody pending further investigation.

The two year old victim remains in critical condition.
