KCSO arrest 15-year-old on attempted murder charge after releasing aerial firework into crowd

On Thursday, Kern County Sheriff's Officers arrested at 15-year-old for releasing an aerial firework into a crowd of people.

KCSO responded to a call Wednesday, July 11 around 1:00 p.m. in the area of Virginia and Flower Street. Deputies found a victim suffering from minor injuries as a result of the explosion. KCSO Bomb Squad assisted with the investigation.

Sheriff's deputies determined that a 15-year-old juvenile intentionally released the firework into the crowd, which exploded underneath a vehicle.

The juvenile faces charges for attempted murder. The juvenile's name is being withheld due to age.
