KCSO arrest two individuals after possible burglary in Taft

TAFT, Calif. — Deputies with the Taft Substation arrested two individuals in connection to a possible burglary at Midway Elementary School in Fellows on April 12.

According to deputies, the school was not open at the time the call came out and no students were present. When deputies arrived, they located three people who fled from the scene. Upon investigating, officials conducted a probation search at a nearby home and located items that had been stolen from the school, including striped copper wire and vehicle keys.

Deputies arrested 40-year-old William Jones for outstanding warrants, vandalism, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of metals belonging to transportation or utilities, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They also arrested 23-year-old Janette Starks for burglary, vandalism, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of metals belonging to transportation or utilities and accessory.
