The Kern County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man for first-degree murder.

23-year-old Daren Hanslovan was arrested on Friday afternoon for felony first-degree murder and misdemeanors for possession of a controlled substance, battery and petty theft.

He's been booked into the Kern County Jail and is being held without bail. He'll appear in court on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
