BORON, Calif. — Officials have arrested a man and a woman who they say are responsible for a home burglary "in process."

The Kern County Sheriff's office deputies from the Mojave and Rosamond substations said they responded to a call of a possible burglary on Nudgent Street in Boron around 9 p.m. on Wednesday. When deputies arrived to the home, they reportedly saw someone turn the lights off and a person moving inside. When officials contacted the homeowners they confirmed that no one should have been inside the home at the time.

Deputies said they found 24-year-old Michael Nelson and Elaine Penteria inside the home.

Nelson was booked into the Kern County Central Receiving Facility for felony burglary, obstructing a peace officer, and multiple warrants.

Penteria was arrested for burglary.
