BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a 7-day-old baby was found dead inside a home in the area of 600 Brentwood in East Bakersfield.
Officials said that deputies were dispatched to the home Friday morning around 5:15 a.m. after reports that the baby was not breathing.
The cause of death has not been released.
KCSO told 23ABC that six other children living at the home were placed into protective custody.
No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
