BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A bicycle stop in Taft led to deputies arresting a man for drug possession on Tuesday, April 2.

Deputies with the Taft substation observed a man on Tuesday riding his bike at night without a forward facing light.

After detaining Dean for the violation, they found that he had two warrants for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrants. Following a search of his backpack, they located 19.5 grams of suspected meth and numerous hypodermic syringes.

Dean was transported and booked for possessing a controlled substance for sales, transportation/sales of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and being under the influence of drugs, riding a bicycle during darkness without a headlight and his two misdemeanor warrants.
