DELANO, Calif. — KCSO says County Line Road including the on and off ramps to Highway 99 in Delano are now open after a bomb squad was called out to the area.
KCSO tells 23ABC that a live hand grenade with missing components and shotgun shells were discovered in the area but has now been "rendered safe".
Initial reports from KCSO said a work release crew-member discovered a sock with contents in it and an item that looked similar to a grenade near the side of Highway 99.
CHP did close off County Line Road including the on and off ramps to Highway 99 while working the area.
