BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Monday, the Kern County Sheriff's Office bomb squad was called out for a destructive device that was reportedly disposed in Central Bakersfield.
According to officials, the bomb squad was dispatched to the area of 700 Chester Avenue around 9 a.m. After arriving, officials worked on the device, rendered it safe, and collected it. They were able to clear the scene by 10: 30 a.m.
KCSO officials said they do not have any leads on who disposed the device but they did confirm it was not connected to any nearby businesses.
