UPDATE (9 a.m.): KCSO says 67-year-old Philip Norwood was taken into custody tied to the deadly shooting in Ridgecrest.
According to KCSO, the shooting happened at Cameo Kennels at 1566 S. Nolan Street, where the victim's wife worked. The victim's wife told sheriff's deputies that her husband had been shot by Cameo Kennels' owner, Philip Norwood. She said her husband was shot after he and Norwood got into an argument.
While investigating the shooting, deputies went to Norwood's home. He was not there. Deputies then went to Cameo Kennels to continue their investigation. Norwood was not at Cameo Kennels initially, but he she showed up during the investigation and was taken into custody without incident.
Norwood is set to be charged Tuesday with first-degree murder.

UPDATE (May 7 4:41a.m.): The Kern County Sheriff's Office said they received a call around 4:54p.m. from Ridgecrest Regional Hospital that a man with a gunshot wound had arrived.
The man died at the hospital.
Officials determined the shooting happened in the 1500 block of Nolan St near West Springer St. and Mikes Trail.
KCSO said they have a person of interest in custody who is being questioned.
KCSO officials said it is still early in the investigation.
