KCSO confirms human remains were located near a creek in Oildale Saturday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Saturday, Kern County Sheriff's deputies found human remains in a creek in Oildale.

According to the KCSO, deputies responded to a call of suspected human remains found near the 2100 Block of Harrison Drive at around 11:40 am. The remains were found near a creek in a field and were determined to be human.

Homicide detectives have assumed the investigation.

The coroner will determine the identity of the remains, as well as the cause and manner of death.
