KCSO: Deputies investigating two robberies in Lamont

LAMONT, Calif. — Deputies at the Lamont Substation said they are investigating two robberies that happened over the weekend.

According to officials, on Saturday, September 21 around 9:30 a.m., deputies were called out to the Food Mart on Weedpatch Highway for a report of a robbery. Deputies said one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

Officials said the suspects ran away from the store towards Parish Avenue where a driver in a gray or silver Nissan Pathfinder was waiting.

That same day around 5:33 p.m., deputies answered to another robbery at the La Tienda market on DiGiorgio Road.When they arrived they found that a Hispanic man had brandished a handgun and demanded cash from employees. That suspect is described as wearing some sort of mask, gray or black shirt, and a New York Yankees baseball cap.

Officials said that suspect's getaway car is beleived to be a Toyota Camry.
