KCSO: Deputies seize marijuana, cash and guns in Bakersfield area

Kern County Sheriff deputies were called to several Bakersfield homes on Friday to search for drugs and weapons. Through the investigation raid, officials confiscated over 400 pounds of marijuana, over 100 marijuana plants, 7 firearms and cash. 

Here's a press release sent to 23ABC from KCSO deputies: 

On July 20, 2018, investigators with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, with the assistance of the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the Kern County Probation Department, executed search warrants in the areas of the 5800 block of Brundage Lane, 13800 block of Costajo Road, 6000 block of Poso Flat Road, the mountain area of Rancheria Road near Poso Flat Road, and the 400 block of O’Connor Road, all in the Bakersfield area.

 

At the locations, investigators seized over 418lbs of processed marijuana, 192 marijuana plants, seven firearms, $64,596.00, and other indicia of the illegal sales of marijuana.  The plants seized were capable of producing three plus pounds of marijuana per plant.  The total street value of the plants and marijuana seized are approximately $695,800.00.

 

Irrael Mendoza Chavez (34) was arrested for the illegal sales of marijuana and weapons violations.  Manuel Miranda (52) was arrested for weapons violations.  Jose Villalobos (52) was arrested for providing false information to peace officers and for an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  All three individuals were booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility.  This investigation is ongoing and all individuals involved were booked into the jail pending court proceedings.
