Kern County Sheriff's homicide detectives are on the scene of a possible homicide in Bakersfield.

Detectives were called to the area of Del Mar Drive, just north of Casa Loma Elementary School, for reports of a shooting.

A man was shot around 5:45 a.m. on November 1 at a three-unit housing complex. Detectives are unsure whether he was inside or outside of the home and are also not sure if the victim lived at the complex.

The victim sustained major injuries but is still alive.
