KCSO enlisting public's help in October homicide in East Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in the investigation of a homicide in East Bakersfield in 2019.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of Niles Street and Normandy Drive in Bakersfield to a report of a shooting on October 25, 2019 around midnight.

When they arrived, they located 29-year-old Gerardo Chocoteco suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Deputies also located an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in this investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110 or the Secret Witness Line at 661-322-4040.
