On Saturday, at about 3:30 p.m., Mojave deputies were sent to an assault in progress occurring in a home located in the 26000 block of Morongo Dr. in Fremont Valley. 

Deputies identified Zachery Garza, 26, as the suspect in the assault. Deputies said Garza was found to be in possession of four rifles, two shotguns and approximately four pounds of marijuana. Garza is a previously convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms. 

Garza was arrested and booked into the Central Receiving Facility on charges of battery on a person, criminal threats, possession of marijuana for sale, and felon in possession of a firearm.
