KCSO: Five people arrested for possession of over $1 million worth of illegal drugs in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Five suspects have been arrested after deputies found them with over $1 million worth of illegal drugs, Kern County County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit said.

On Monday, officials searched homes in the area of 200 Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, 8300 Tucana Avenue, and 2700 St. Mary’s Street in Bakersfield. KCSO said 109lbs of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $989,720, 12oz of heroin with an estimated street value of $20,520, 2.8g of cocaine with an estimated street value of $280, an additional $13,513 in cash and two handguns -- one of which was stolen.

Deputies ended up arresting, Christian Salazar, 24, Nyah Diaz, 19, Daniel Diaz, 21, Leo Espinoza,19, Hisa Castillo, 57, and Stephanie Castillo. They were booked into Kern County Jail for various felony charges including weapons violations, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of illegal drugs for the purposes of sales, maintaining a residence for the purposes of sales, and outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
