Kern County Sheriff  officials say their detectives are at the scene of a homicide that occurred on the Water St. Thursday afternoon.

Before 1:00 p.m., KCSO deputies to responded to a shooting call inside an apartment on the 600 block of Water. St.

When deputies arrived to the scene, they located a victim inside an apartment.

Officials said the victim was an adult male and he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Authorities say the man was shot at least once.

KCSO doesn't have any information at this time of what led to the shooting.

Officials do not know at this time if the man lived in the apartment complex. 

The man's identity and age will be released at a later time by the coroner's office.
