The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible embezzlement case within a parent-teacher group in Tehachapi. A former board member of the organization under the Tehachapi Unified School District is being accused of taking nearly $50,000 from the organization. According to KCSO, the main suspect is 39-year-old Melissa Fair. Officials began an investigation after a report was made in August.
