The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting that happened Tuesday night in Wasco and have one person in custody.

Abel Juarez, 36, was arrested on 1st Street in Wasco between Maple Avenue and Poplar Avenue on Wednesday.

Deputies responded to a shooting in the 1900 block of 4th Street around 11 p.m.

When deputies arrived they found 51-year-old Eduardo Salinas Sr. suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Salinas died at the scene. 

The motive behind the shooting is unclear at this time.
