BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting that happened near Lamont Monday morning.
At 10:47 a.m., deputies responded to a call of a body found in the grape vineyards in the area of Hermosa Road and South Vineland Road near Lamont, KCSO said.
Deputies found Bakersfield local,19-year-old Ira Tremaine Stevenson, identified by the Sheriff-Coroner, in the vineyards, with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Detectives have taken over the investigation. Anyone with information on this deadly shooting is asked to call KCSO at 861-3110 or the Secret Witness line at 322-4040.
