BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a female inmate at Lerdo Jail Saturday night.
According to KCSO, deputies responded to the jail and began an in-custody death investigation at about 5 p.m.
It is unclear how the woman died and whether she was held with other inmates at the time.
