The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in south Kern County.

KCSO says at about 9:20 a.m. the California Highway Patrol received a call regarding a possible body near Interstate-5 and South Sabodan Street.

Upon arrival, KCSO located a deceased man. The KCSO Homicide Detectives were called to the scene and assumed the investigation.

The investigation is being investigated as a homicide. The identity of the victim is unknown at this time as is the cause of death.
